1) I am directed to refer to the above sub-reference and to state that the Punjab Civil Servants (Conduct) Rules, 1966 provide guidelines for the conduct of civil servants, particularly, regarding participation in various media/social media forums. provides.

However, it has been observed with great concern that some officers and officials engage themselves. Websites, Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp, Instagram, Microblogging, Tik Tok, YouTube etc., without considering its impact on the public at large or in a particular sector of the society.

3) Therefore, it is desired by the Competent Authority that no officer shall share his thoughts, opinion, statement, any information, document, video using various social media platforms which any officer Be disliked for.

Websites, Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp, Instagram, Microblogging, Tik Tik, YouTube etc., which do not conform to the required standards of official conduct / decorum.

4 (I further request you to direct the officers under your administrative control to strictly follow the above instructions, failing which strict action may be taken against them as per rules/law/policy. Disciplinary action will be initiated.
