Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Sunday announced that a subsidy of Rs 50 per liter would be given to the country’s low-income segment as part of the petroleum relief package, Radio Pakistan reported.
Presiding over the meeting, the Prime Minister said that consumers using small vehicles including motorcycles, rickshaws, and 800 cc vehicles should be included in the petroleum subsidy.
He directed all concerned authorities to finalize the scheme as soon as possible and ensure its effective implementation.
“Despite severe economic difficulties, the government is trying to help the poor as much as possible,” the prime minister added.
Minister of State for Petroleum Mossadegh Malik briefed the meeting on the implementation strategy of petroleum subsidies for low-income people.
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif says that the petroleum subsidy will provide direct relief to the poor.

ریڈیو پاکستان کی خبر کے مطابق، وزیر اعظم شہباز شریف نے اتوار کو اعلان کیا کہ پیٹرولیم ریلیف پیکیج کے حصے کے طور پر ملک کے کم آمدنی والے طبقے کو 50 روپے فی لیٹر کی سبسڈی دی جائے گی۔
اجلاس کی صدارت کرتے ہوئے وزیراعظم نے کہا کہ چھوٹی گاڑیاں استعمال کرنے والے صارفین بشمول موٹرسائیکل، رکشہ اور 800 سی سی گاڑیاں پٹرولیم سبسڈی میں شامل کی جائیں۔
انہوں نے تمام متعلقہ حکام کو ہدایت کی کہ وہ اسکیم کو جلد از جلد حتمی شکل دیں اور اس پر موثر عملدرآمد کو یقینی بنائیں۔
وزیر اعظم نے مزید کہا، “سخت معاشی مشکلات کے باوجود، حکومت غریبوں کی ہر ممکن مدد کرنے کی کوشش کر رہی ہے۔”
وزیر مملکت برائے پیٹرولیم مصدق ملک نے اجلاس کو کم آمدنی والے افراد کے لیے پیٹرولیم سبسڈی کے نفاذ کی حکمت عملی پر بریفنگ دی۔
وزیراعظم شہباز شریف کا کہنا ہے کہ پیٹرولیم سبسڈی سے غریبوں کو براہ راست ریلیف ملے گا۔
حکومت کا یہ فیصلہ پیٹرول کی قیمت ایک بار پھر 5 روپے فی لیٹر اضافے کے بعد 272 روپے فی لیٹر ہونے کے بعد سامنے آیا ہے۔

عالمی سطح پر خام تیل کی قیمتیں گر رہی ہیں، برینٹ کروڈ کی قیمت 73 سینٹس کمی کے ساتھ 48 ڈالر فی بیرل پر ٹریڈ کر رہی ہے۔ تیل کی قیمتوں میں 5 سے 7 روپے کی کمی۔
ماہرین کا کہنا ہے کہ خام تیل کی قیمت میں کمی سے پاکستان کے درآمدی بل میں کمی آئے گی ڈالر کے بعد خام تیل سستا ہونے سے پاکستان میں پیٹرولیم مصنوعات کی قیمتوں میں کمی کا امکان ہے۔
مہنگائی سے پریشان عوام کو بڑا ریلیف مل گیا۔
واضح رہے کہ روس یوکرائن جنگ کے باعث دنیا بھر میں خام تیل اور گیس کی قیمتوں میں اضافہ ہوا تھا تاہم اب عالمی منڈی استحکام کی جانب گامزن ہے۔
