For my whole life, I have fought with overthinking. It all began when I was so young and didn’t give it any thought. I believed that my worry, excitement, or boredom was only temporary. I realise it’s overthinking now that I’m older. Having said that, everyone experiences overthinking, but in my case, I’ve observed that it has begun to rule my life. everyday activities, social interactions, casual discussions, or most frequently when I’m by myself thinking.

When I am by myself, I tend to beat myself up by overthinking about what I am doing wrong with my life, how I appear, and comparisons to others.

It’s difficult to convey what is going through your mind when you find it difficult to comprehend it yourself, according to a quote I once read. I can’t even begin to explain how this phrase affected me to my closest friends or family members. The negative consequences of mental illness and overthinking frequently weigh on me. Every mistake I have ever made in my life plays back in my head constantly like a movie.

It is moving continuously and shows no signs of stopping or slowing down. That can be psychologically and emotionally demanding, let me tell you that. Some of the difficulties I have had as a result of my overthinking include never feeling confidence in my choices, never feeling like I belong, social anxiety, insomnia, never having enough energy to get through the day, and believing that I am not deserving of the love I know I need.

Although the term “overthinking” is frequently used in a colloquial context, it is anything but. Examples of overthinking include: why did I say that, did I leave the curling iron on, should I go or should I remain, did I say the correct thing there, should I go talk to that person, was that a foolish comment, you’re not talking enough, you talk too much, and you don’t talk enough. Overthinking is a curse, to put it succinctly (the list continues on and on). I firmly believe that until you are one, no one can truly comprehend what an overthinker’s mind is like.

Having said that, there are a few techniques I’ve discovered to break my bad behavior. I like to take some time to go somewhere alone and calm myself down when I start to overthink anything. I take a few deep breaths and just express my feelings to myself. Keep in mind that if you are in charge and have the upper hand in that circumstance, your ideas cannot cause any harm. You have the ability to quit overanalyzing and to unwind your body, mind, and spirit. My best piece of advise is to be kind to yourself, but also to keep in mind that you have the ability to press the stop button.
