The Capital Development Authority, which is responsible for providing municipal services in the Islamabad Capital Territory, was established on 14 June 1960 by an executive order called the Pakistan Capital Regulation. Most of CDA’s municipal services and departments were transferred to the newly formed Islamabad Metropolitan Corporation in 2016, but CDA still handles estate management, project implementation and sector development.
